About Iron Oxide (Fe3O4)
Iron(II,III) Oxide (Fe3O4) is a highly insoluble and thermally stable iron compound, widely used in glass, optic, and ceramic applications. Oxide compounds, in general, are not conductive to electricity, except for certain perovskite structured oxides that find application in the cathode of solid oxide fuel cells and oxygen generation systems. These compounds contain at least one oxygen anion and one metallic cation and are typically insoluble in aqueous solutions (water), making them useful in a wide range of applications, including ceramic structures, advanced electronics, aerospace, and electrochemical systems such as fuel cells.
Metal oxide compounds, such as High Purity (99.999%) Iron Oxide (FeO) Powder, are basic anhydrides that can react with acids and strong reducing agents in redox reactions. Iron Oxide is also available in various forms, including pellets, pieces, powder, sputtering targets, tablets, and nanopowder.
