About Lithium Titanate (Li2TiO3)

This compound contains a form of Titanium Oxide and finds applications in electronics, ceramics, and batteries, among other uses. A recent nanotechnology-based development from the University of Illinois involves nanofiber mats of zinc titanate that can remove sulfur impurities from petroleum-based fuels more efficiently than existing methods, which could potentially lower the cost of fuel technologies in the future.

Lithium Metatitanate is a white powder with a melting point of 1,533 °C (2,791 °F) and has various uses, such as an additive in porcelain enamels and ceramic insulating bodies based on titanates. It is frequently utilized as a flux due to its good stability. Lithium ceramics, including metatitanate pebbles, have been studied for use as tritium breeding materials in nuclear fusion applications in recent years.

Lithium Titanates are mixed oxides of lithium, titanium, and oxygen that belong to the titanates family.
