About Indium(II) Selenide (InSe)

Indium(II) Selenide (InSe) is an inorganic III-VI semiconductor with a lattice structure. The compound is composed of indium and selenium, and is readily available in most volumes. The solid-state structure of InSe consists of two-dimensional layers that are held together only by van der Waals forces. The atoms in each layer are arranged in the order of Se-In-In-Se.

InSe has potential applications in various fields, such as optoelectronics, photovoltaic, non-linear optics, and strain gauges. It can also be utilized in field effect transistors and methanol gas sensors.
