About Indium (In)
Indium is a versatile metal that is available in various forms and purities. It can be obtained in both metallic and compound states, with purities ranging from 99% to 99.9999%.
In its metallic form, Indium can be found in the form of foil, sputtering targets, rods, pellets, wires, and granules, which are ideal for evaporation source material purposes. On the other hand, Indium compounds are available as submicron and nanopowder, which are ideal for research and development purposes.
Indium oxide is also available in the form of powders and dense pellets, which are suitable for use in optical coating and thin film applications. However, oxides tend to be insoluble in nature. Similarly, Indium fluoride is another insoluble form that is commonly used in metallurgy, chemical and physical vapor deposition, and some optical coatings.
Indium is also available in soluble forms, such as chlorides, nitrates, and acetates, which are used in various applications. These compounds can be manufactured as solutions at specific stoichiometries, making them useful for a wide range of research and development purposes.
