About Tungsten Carbide (WC)

Tungsten(IV) Carbide is a versatile material available in various forms and custom shapes, including ingots, foils, rods, plates, and sputtering targets. High purity forms of carbide include powder, submicron powder, and High Purity (99.999%) Tungsten(IV) Carbide Sputtering Target in nanoscale, single crystal, or polycrystalline forms.

Carbides are compounds where the anion is one or more carbon atoms. Most metals can form carbide compounds, but some, like Indium and Gallium, do not. Like diamond, carbide compounds are extremely hard, refractory, and resistant to wear, corrosion, and heat. These properties make them excellent candidates for coatings on drills and other tools. In combination with toughness, carbide compounds can have other valuable properties such as electrical conductivity, low thermal expansion, and abrasiveness.

The surface finish and cleanliness of the product are measured using a surface cleanliness meter.
